Wilson Crook

About

(He/They)

Wilson is a Brooklyn-based artist from Carrboro, North Carolina. They are an Oberlin College graduate with a Studio Art Degree. The work they produce ranges from textiles to woodwork to prints all of which straddle ornamentation and function. A childhood of exploring the woods and creeks of central North Carolina is one of the main bedrocks of their work. As such, nature and time are key inspirations in their work yet ego, isolation, and transition are equal rivers that flow through each piece.

They currently work as a gallery assistant and do freelance custom framing and printing. Outside of Art, they have worked in kitchens, farms, bakeries, as an educator, swim coach and a million other random jobs. They look forward to the many more experiences and friends that more adventures will bring. They love the outdoors, cooking, games that don’t involve strategy, sci-fi books, comics, and bad tv.
